Make Money with Music:Part6- Build Your Catalog

06Dec09

I meet many people who write 1 good song and think they are the next huge songwriter or singer. Odds are that your 1 song may get you some attention, but most publishers, agents and labels are going to want to see that you can produce top notch music over and over again. They are looking for a money machine, not just one lucky song. So your mission here is to build up a catalog of material that really is great and speaks for your talent. You can find out what your best material is by getting song critiques, or performing your songs live to see how the audience reacts. Realistically you should have about 12 GREAT songs every year that you can market in your catalog. If you are a singer you should be practicing daily and recording as many demos as you can afford, and songwriters should be writing every single day.
I have been working on demos for over 13 years and may be able to help you get a great sounding demo.
